LA CARRERA PANAMERICANA

1991, 1992 and 1994

Our 1955 XK 140 Jaguar has been to Mexico 3 times for the La Carerra Panamericana
and finished all three times. We've logged more than 12,000 Kilometers of Mexican roadway
with this sturdy old Jaguar. Our finishes were 10th place - 1991, 4th place - 1992, and 4th
place - 1994. The Mexican Road Race is a 3000 K long race spanning 7 days and the entire
length of Mexico. We cross the Continental Divide at least 5 times and see elevation changes
from sea level to over 3000 meters. While most of the road is paved, it is also only two lanes
wide and is without guard-rail for most of the distance.
These photos were taken in the mountains near Morelia, Mexico on the way to Guadalajara.

For information on the latest La Carrera Panamericana race (October each year ) and how to enter,
you can email , Loyal Truesdale
U.S. Race Coordinator. Entries are on a 'first come first serve' basis and openings are limited
by the country of origin. This is an experience that will change, forever, the way you think about
Vintage Racing and the wonderful people of Mexico.

Cats!

I KNOW!!! It's not a Jaguar, it's a Mustang.
This is our good friend Peter Wilson.

He's flogged that
old Stang around lots of the midwest tracks with us. Really, the car drives about like a '50s
Jag!! Lots of power - NO BRAKES!!!
