As background you may want to read notes from previous meetings and acquaint yourself with the history of what has happened in the last decade or so. Please take some time to review the 2005 Updates and Historical Information available here as you prepare your thoughts.

Please take some time to offer your suggestions on helping us recolonize a successful fraternity at Hillsdale's campus. It is going to take significant effort on the part of many individuals. We need volunteers! If you want it to happen, then you need to donate your time.
Money won't hurt either.

| Monday, September 19, 2005 10:04 AM Tom: I could not attend the homecoming this year even though I have moved to the area. I am now in Battle Creek with my wife and three children. I have updated my information and even submitted a $20 check, a first for me by way of dues. The point of my note is that I want to help with the recolonization effort. I still have friends from the year I spent there in town working (1999-2000) and have some good ideas. Please count me in for at least some effort. Robert Paul Viar

| Thursday, September 01, 2005 5:44 PM I have just read the meeting notes for August 2005. I am very happy to read that there are plans to move ahead and get TKE back at Hillsdale. I pledged in Fall of 1964, the second pledge class of Iota Nu. Prior to that, the fraternity had been KSK, Kappa Sigma Kappa. The KSK fraternity was probably founded and the members were of the Korean War generation that you mentioned. However, TKE had a different demographic of those born in the 1945-46-47 time frame. If anyone has saved any of the old collages from the 63-65-65 timeframe you will be able to see who were the initial members. The last time I was on campus was for the '93 Homecoming. At that time, one of the active members asked if he could borrow my collages to make reprints. The large originals had either been defaced, stolen or destroyed from the 'bad period'! I did lend them, and got them back. I would be willing to lend them again for reprints, with the caveat that they be returned to me. You can then research alumni addresses from these photos. Please advise, Jim Mitchell, 1968 4254 Massachusetts Street Long Beach CA 90814 562-433-0389 jasjmtch@ix.netcom.com

| Thursday, September 01, 2005 12:46 PM Hi Tom, I hope we start getting some responses from Alumni outside of the 1970-74 era. TKE National and Hillsdale want to see a pretty cohesive Alumni group before they invest time and money into bringing Iota Nu TKE back on campus. You know, if we don't have a high level of interest, perhaps we should just set up a huge party somewhere (like on a cruise ship) with the costs for everyone prorated by the amount of money they gave the Alumni fund. Or, maybe we host our own tent party and bring in Willie Nelson or Chuck Berry for one blowout evening. Chip |
